It's The Climb

Today was erm, great. I chose Consumer Banking as my last elective. I hope I have some pals there. Haha, oh yeah, I'm T06's class rep.

I never thought I would actually like to listen to Miley Cyrus' songs. Well, whilst watching Fighting Spiders, I thought about what's gonna happen in the future, like next month. When Channel 5 took a break, I swoped to Star World, Hallmark, MTV, then Disney... haha, then Miley Cyrus' song The Climb was showing. Very inspirational song. Tells you no matter what challenges or mountains you face, its the climb that matters.

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an up-hill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

Next month's huge for me. I'll be turning 19 on the 8th. At the same time, loads of tests, or rather challenges coming up. My lifesaving test, then driving retest, then excel test for CRA. I'm quite sian thinking about what's coming up, but the only way I know is that I've got to face them. I guess the outcome does not matter, its that I've done my best.

I can't wait for this Friday. I think its gonna be a mahjong session with my family, and I foresee myself winning. Haha.

25th April 2009

I'm such a last min freak. Today finally, I did up my resume and sent it to Heineken. I just had to dwindle my holidays away, Of course, I failed to make good use of my holidays. But the saying goes: its useless to cry over spilled milk.

I'll leave it to God's hands as to whether or not I'll get accepted. So Heineken, take it or leave it! Just kidding haha. Mom told me a little about Internship just now. I hope I learn and apply my course knowledge there, and not to get coffee for others or photocopy paper for others.:(

Darn my big mouth. I let slip to my parents when my driving retest was just now. Shit. I told them if I failed again, I'll just apply for Auto. They were fine with it.

So first week of school's great. Of course, cos the only days I had to go to school were Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Friday, in fact, was for Lifesaving training. I learnt quite a lot on Friday. I barely hit the requirement of 3min15s, whereby I have to go rescue casualty 50m away and bring him back to shore. But I think it does not really matter if I pass or fail, cos at least I did go for it.

My timetable this semester rocks! Can't wait to meet up with my new class. Oh please, I dun wanna be the class rep... Maybe assistant something. Haha.

Spilled Milk

Oh man, I'm in a dilemma again. In fact, quite a number.

First, tommorow I think I'm going back to complete my lifesaving course, cos I left it dangling halfway. I want to get the full Bronze Medallion Cert, but I'm not sure if I'm cut out for it. I knew the previous test, I lucked out and passed. Not sure if I can be lucky all the time. Part of me does not really want to go into the course to finish it. I keep thinking for a perfect solution, but to no avail.

Second, my elective exercise is back to haunt me again. Seriously, I don't really like the fact that we have the elect the electives so early in the semester. Can't we choose them during the holidays like after the entire semester or something? Once again, my plans are much different from my parents'.

Basically, I have slashed out Financial Institutions and Market, and Practice of Taxation. It's down to these two electives: Consumer Banking and Audit Practice. I feel like going for Consumer Banking, but my parents think I should go for Audit Practice. They mentioned auditing would be a great help in the current work situations such as Ren Ci Hospital's current fiasco. The thing is, I'm not an alert person, and I don't think I am cut out for auditing. Oh there's a third option: Don't take any electives.

Oh brother, tell me what to do? I am troubled. I made the wrong decision last semester of not taking Business Calculas. Because if I did so last year, I would have definitely took up CAC this sem!

...its no use crying over spilled milk... I conclude.

This week has been a well, busy one. Monday and tuesday was relative chalet, wednesday and thursday was coursemate chalet.

I sent my cousin off on Tuesday. It was a huge experience for me. He was enlisting that day, and I had a tour of the whole of Tekong. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. I thought it was gonna be like Survivor and we had to sleep on the mud. Lol, maybe during field camp I guess. There were beds and recreation rooms and so on, and the food was alright. I think I should stop worrying the worst and live life the way it should be. NS is gonna be cool!

I went for the anf coursemate chalet on wednesday. It was so much fun. Peeps like Edric, Wee Kwang, Carolyn, Eric, Joanne, Guo Zhi, Johnathan and Josiah were there. We swam together, ate, and played together. It was so much fun! The games in particular. There's so much you can do with poker cards. I enjoyed Polar Bear so much. You had to psycho everyone. I am a good actor. Haha.

On thursday, oh, end of the chalet, so the guys and the 2 girls haha, came to my place. We played mahjong and watched TV together. So I guess they can't complain anymore that they have never been to my place. Haha, I hope you guys and girls.. had fun. That's almost half the day gone. Oh ya, the SAVE for american idol has been used. Thank god the judges used it ultimately.

Today was another day gone. It's my final free day. Next week's the start to Year 3. I am very excited. Oh yes, my timetable. I love it. Monday to wednesday are packed from 9-4. But thursday and friday starts from 9-11. Friday's so awesome. I am free to go out or do whatever after 11!

Permanent announcement: I have decided to keep BC. I would like to apologise to some of my coursemates, where I promised to surrender my BC position to them. Haha, my parents told me to keep the subject cos they find math as one of my strengths. The tutor for BC is rather nice too, cos she's my mother's close friend. So yea. As much as I would love to study CAC, I think maybe next time in the uni, or ACCA? Haha, I really dunno. It would have been great if I studied BC last sem. Then I need not have to make the horrid decision of forgoing CAC. CAC sounds really interesting. Credit Administration Control. How cool. Really I mean it.

Oh back to today. I watched Fast and furious with Hao Feng and Mhutu. It was quite a bad show haha. I honestly could not wait for it to end. It was not easy to comprehend either, especially when you did not watch the first three seasons. Ah well, then had jap buffet with the two of them. It was a chance to catch up with my close buds before they enlist next week.

Oh yea. I did some serious reflection on the way home. This holiday was once again a trainwreck, as in a slack and wasted one. Given an awesome timetable this sem, I had better use my time more wisely. Needa work smart! I have decided to use Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for swimming or seriously start working out. Tuesday can be my rest day or something. Friday would be for going out or recreational purposes.

Also, I think that I should start coming better prepared for tutorials. I hope this strategy works, then I can obtain 3.72 as my max culmulative GPA... Haha, but ultimately, doesn't matter if I really do it or not la, cos the GPA is just a numerical figure; hehe, sounds like the fox who says the grapes are sour just cos he can't get them. Whatever seriously. I plan to just give my best in my final year.

Really. I am so contradicting... I sound like I wanna get a perfect score for the semesters to come initially, then later I say that I just wanna do my best. It's complicated, confounding.

It's a weird thing. Life. Sometimes you're game, sometimes you're lame. I mean sometimes I talk too much on blog, sometimes I don't feel like talking. Sometimes I strive to be perfect, but sometimes I just wanna cruise through. Sometimes I feel good about myself, but sometimes I live in self-doubt. Life's just like being Hot and Cold.

The main point is: I really hope I start being happy with who I am. A lot has changed, and a lot will keep changing in the years to come.

P.S. It's a really long and scatterbrainish post, so I do apologise.

Disclaimer: This post is very corny...

First of all, I wanna wish my younger brother, Lie Wen,
HAPPY 14TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you would have a great year ahead, and you've been an awesome brother.:D

Oh yes, my second best friend. My doggie Lie En. Its her birthday today too. Happy 7th birthday. I hope you would stop bitting my socks and bark lesser! Just kidding...

To the birthday boy and erm, pet, your presents are coming. Haha, please be patient.

T01 outing on friday was great. Steamboat was beautifully prepared by Ken:D, Hui shan and xue li. Thank you to all for coming. It was a very fun party. I'm sorry for putting in food into the steamboat sparingly... Haha, but I hope all of you had a great time at my place. Let's have another one soon!

Okay I'm gonna sidetrack to national service now.

Lodas of my friends are enlisting around this time, be it yesterday, tommorow or on tuesday. I'm gonna miss you guys. In particular, my buddy cousin, Ziyong. Please take care, and "chao keng" if you have to. Do not overexert and just have fun. It will be my time soon... and I am "looking forward" to it.

Righto, lastly to end off this stupid post, I've yet to do up my application letter and resume for SIP. I had better start by this week before school starts. Hopefully the company's Finance dept. accepts me. Oh yea, great, school's starting...

Mad World

Aw... Blind dude of American Idol went home. Kinda sad. I just started to support him, but he was sent home. I have only one favourite in the competition: ADAM!!!

This past week at home, with my parents in Shanghai was great. I had so much freedom and went out with friends to play, mahjong and supper. Unfortunately, school's coming back in ten days.:( I'll be year 3 soon.

Tommorow, my classmates from T01 are coming. So hope it'll be a fun one.

You're So Beautiful

On tuesday, first time in my life I won $13 for mahjong. HEHEHE. I'm becoming addicted. Not sure if there's another session on tommorow.

American Idol results just now. Omg. Megan's out. Sad. The show's not gonna be fun anymore. At least there's still Adam. Adam Lambert for the win!:D

So recently, I've been watching Tang Xin Feng Bao 2, or Moonlight Resonance. Watched up to 12 episodes. I finished watching the first season on Channel 55. First is Abalone business, now its mooncake. Wonder what's next. Pretty Good show I must say. Hong Kong drama in my opinion is just the best. One major reason I watch the show is because of one cast member: the HOTTEST Hong Kong actress: LINDA CHUNG!!! She is so ...:D

I Heart Linda. :)
